Across Riverside Road
The Colorado River flows
Its blue water's
No longer reaching the sea
From the multipaned window
Observing is no longer possible
Water untamed
Blocked by the arrival
of another house
People roam
The gritty asphalt
Chasing mad dogs and tumbleweeds
Enraptured by the power plant
Smoke stacks and man made clouds
Never considering
What once was
Before progress conquered the river
